Faith-Based Blood Pressure Screening

Trained church health aides to measure blood pressure and provided education on cardiovascular risks and blood pressure importance. Revised previously created guidelines and forms to reflect new guidelines and literature. Churches now have the capacity to screen for blood pressure and refer members that have high blood pressures for further follow-up without further intervention from health care professionals. Churches are given a list of places to assist with health insurance and health care providers that are willing to care for all comers, even if the patients don't have insurance.
